Proposal/Project Engineer

Looking for a highly motivated, experienced individual to join our Applications Engineering team as a Proposal/Project Engineer.  The successful candidate will be willing to take on challenges and propose, present & manage innovative CNC machine tool & automation solutions while working as part of a team.

Essential Functions

  • Analyze customer requirements including risk factors
  • Develop Competitive system concepts
  • Develop detailed manufacturing/process plans
  • Prepare detailed time studies
  • Obtain necessary vendor support and quotations
  • Elevate critical issues to management
  • Develop price estimates
  • Write proposal documents
  • Meet quotation deadlines
  • Support sales presentations
  • Manage and lead new project launches through delivery and installation at Customer's site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years experience in manufacturing process planning and quoting, CNC machining and project management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Practical understanding of CAD/CAM, especially SolidWorks 2008
  • Ability to work independently, balancing multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to make sound financial decisions when building a proposal.
  • Ability to present technical information to all levels of customers' organization in a professional and respectful manner. 

Minnesota & Iowa

 Field Service Engineer/Service Technician

Job responsibilities include installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC machine tools. A two-year electronics degree or electronics background is required for the position. Excellent mechanical aptitude required. Some practical experience in the machine tool industry is desirable, however we are willing to train the right person.
